Kate Bressler, Sue Burkhard and Ann Peterson founded Greyhound Support in Kansas City in 1998.
In November 2000, when Camptown Greyhound Park of Frontenac, KS closed, Greyhound Support in Kansas City worked with Cynthia Cash, GPA/MO and the Kansas Racing & Gaming Commission to move the 200 dogs from the compound into adoption agencies in several states.
The event marked the first time GS/KC had been involved in a large-scale greyhound relocation effort. Since that time GS/KC has worked with area racetracks, trainers and breeders to find new homes for greyhounds.
Two large hauls were held on December 8, 2000 and on January 20, 2001 with several smaller ones happening on various dates in between. Meet the dogs that were moved to adoption groups from California to New Jersey...
